Financial Tips On How To Save Money Part 2

Welcome back. In my last article, I gave you some financial tips on hos to save money. Here are a few more:

Eat Before You Shop For Groceries

This financial tip will save you from impulse buying. Ever observation how the markets display all the stuff we don't need right where you can see it easily, on the ends of aisles, at the checkout, at eye level? They know what they're doing. If you eat before you shop, you won't be tempted to buy that candy bar or bag of chips. Also, make a list and don't deviate. You'll be very pleased with yourself when you get home.

Comparison Shopping

This is huge! We never, ever buy anyone until we've checked out the competitors, and it almost always works to our advantage. My wife was looking for a dress to wear to our son's wedding, and the first one she saw she loved. It fit perfectly, looked great, but it was 0! Of course she would then need shoes, a purse, necklace, etc. So she left the dress, reasoning she could always go back and buy it later. Well, when she went back, it was gone, and discontinued to boot. So, she kept looking, and lo and behold, she found an even nicer dress for 5. This is but one case in point, I have a million financial tips. So, be patient, shop around, take your time, and you will be happy you did.

Save Big $$$ On Traveling

Have you ever heard of Hotels.com, Travelocity.com, Cheapflights.com? These money-saving websites are loaded with bargains. A hotel room that regularly costs 9.00 a night can be beyond doubt had for half that through Hotels.com. Important: When comparison shopping for hotels, also check with the hotel itself. Very often they will offer you a better rate then with the online allowance sites. This is because lately they have been only offering lower rates during times when they expect high vacancies. So, the 30% they have to pay the online allowance sites will now be passed along to you in lower rates. Bonus!

Another way to save is a site called Homeaway.com or Homeaway.ca. We had a family vacation in Nyc last year where we found an apartment downtown with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, so all 4 of us could stay there for 00 for the week. Now, what would 2 hotel rooms in downtown Nyc cost? Double! And no kitchen! We were able to bring back leftovers from restaurants and keep our beer cold too. And don't forget about all those coupon sites out there such as Groupon, Dealgetters, WagJag, etc. These are great for restaurants, where you get 50% off meals.
